I thank the gentleman from Michigan (Mr. Huizenga) and also Chairman Hensarling for their consistent and persistent work on this issue. My friend from California mentioned a minute ago her disappointment. Well, if you want to talk about…
Okay. So then can we at least get some comfort in the knowledge that after that 60- or 90-day period, those kinds of claims are not--false claims are not happening anymore?
How is it possible that there is not--I mean, at some point the Social Security office makes a declaration that this person has passed away?
We have got to do things better, smarter, faster, and cheaper, and more efficiently.
I think what is actually emerging is a consensus on this issue and that there are a lot of people now--and it is a consensus that is based on necessity.
The gentleman from Massachusetts (Mr. Keating) has done good work here and we are deeply appreciative, and I think all Americans are when they learn about what is in this piece of legislation. It enjoys broad bipartisan support, and I am…
Mr. Blumenauer and I have been working on a bill that fits right into this theme.
I would give Berea credit in a large degree for my opportunity to sit here today.
We want to learn more. There is an incredible opportunity I sense for us to do a lot of good all the way around.

Mr. McDermott suggested that this is a hearing today about holding the insurance companies harmless.

Similar theme, this is a limitation amendment that would prohibit the administration from being involved in expediting the financing for the Boeing sale to Iran. I yield 3 minutes to the gentleman from California (Mr. Sherman).
I have an amendment at the desk. The Acting CHAIR. The Clerk will designate the amendment. The text of the amendment is as follows: At the end of the bill (before the short title), insert the following: Sec. __. None of the funds made…
Let me point out one other piece of literature. Again, this comes from the Boeing Company. This is from their Frontiers Magazine: ``Military derivatives front and center.'' This is a continuing problem. Look, this is in stark contrast, Mr…
May I inquire as to the time remaining. The Acting CHAIR. The gentleman from Illinois has 2 minutes remaining, and the gentleman from New York has 3\1/2\ minutes remaining.
The gentleman has conflated a number of issues, so let me explain and try to bring some clarity to this. There is, really, a false notion and a false narrative, which is to collapse the JCPOA--that is the nuclear deal--and the activity…
