Daniel Akaka was a prominent Democratic politician from Hawaii who served as a United States Senator from 1990 to 2012. Born on September 11, 1924, Akaka was the first Native Hawaiian to serve in the U.S. Senate. Throughout his tenure, he was known for his advocacy on issues such as education, veterans' affairs, and Native Hawaiian rights. He played a significant role in promoting the Community Reinvestment Act and was a strong supporter of expanding access to financial services for underserved communities.
Your vision and support have led to an unprecedented level of health care services for veterans.
These families need the support of the VA also to deal with needs of the veteran in the home situation.
Veterans are the soul of America. There are citizens and there are veterans. Without veterans, there would be no citizens.
Thank you very much for that. Since our troops have been returning as of last week, this becomes very, very important.
Part of the billions spent overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan need to be spent on the men and women who relive this war on a daily basis.
If we use the VA health care system, the VA should take care of us 100 per cent.
