I just want to be clear. So you are saying that you do have congressional authority to basically establish these areas such as the Everglades Headwater National Wildlife Refuge?
Now, talking about ranchers and huntsmen and people like that, how is the Service working with the sportsmen community in Florida to ensure new hunting and fishing access opportunities within the existing refuge units in the State of…
We do our best. And that seems to be government always says that, right? We will do our best.
If nothing is done then there is no guarantee of any access, but I do understand your point on basically the old Florida and preserving it.
Thank you, Madam Chair, for this opportunity to testify before you in support of the funding of the East-West Center.
I would like to know what you will do, and how it appearing within the budget, whether we are going to suffer any loss as far as the funding for the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
I was watching it from here, and it was very interesting to see that even CNN and any other newscasts, including the Japanese one, were quoting the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
These reckless cuts put considerable stress on national tsunami monitoring, hindering scientists' ability to forecast weather and alert communities about imminent, dangerous events.
The East-West Center has been cut, and yes, I will also say that in President Obama's budget, it is cut to $10 million.
