We know that information sharing is a vital part of preventing the next terrorist attack.
I as well as, I think, everybody on this committee are very concerned about homegrown terrorists.
I remain concerned with several aspects of both pieces of legislation before us today.
I think this committee ought to be setting policy, and not the White House frankly; and the Department of Homeland Security I think is the best way to try to coordinate things.
I am disappointed that we haven't been more aggressive in our last administration, and I don't know what kind of aggressiveness we are going to have in this administration to try to solve this problem.
I believe in the private sector, I believe in the marketplace, and I think innovation and development comes probably best in the private sector and not from governmental sources.
Government does nothing more fundamental than protecting its citizens, and I couldn't agree with you more on that.
We need to have a very strong not only intelligence community within the Department but a very aggressive counterintelligence community.
