Rick Lynn Scott is an American politician and businessman currently serving as the junior United States senator from Florida, a position he has held since January 3, 2019. A member of the Republican Party, Scott previously served as the 45th governor of Florida from January 4, 2011, to January 8, 2019. During his tenure as governor, he focused on job creation, economic growth, and education reform, implementing policies aimed at reducing taxes and regulations.

I think it's in his best interests to say look, I want to make sure that this is -- there's no question but this university is doing the right thing and is cooperating.
He's also now calling on all universities in the state of Florida to re-examine their hazing policies to make sure everyone knows that this is a practice that is absolutely condemned.
Governor Rick Scott getting more involved as the days go by. He originally said the state needs to investigate this and he's calling on a state investigation, apparently not happy with just the university itself investigating this incident.
He holds workshops every year. He makes sure that the students know not only is it illegal in the state of Florida to be involved in hazing, but it's something that can also get you kicked out of the band.
Is the Department of Homeland Security working with Alabama in helping them implement that law?
I believe this bill is a step backwards in an effort to enhance gun safety, because it would overrule existing judgments enacted by States controlling who should be allowed to carry concealed weapons within their borders.
It should certainly be unwise and improper for us to discard the ability of States to protect the safety of their own citizens.
