I consider myself one of the stronger supporters of bringing true high-speed rail to the United States and also expanding passenger rail service where it makes sense for the taxpayers.

We currently--no offense to Amtrak, but basically we run what I term as Soviet-style passenger train system.

I pleaded and begged to look at the Northeast Corridor.

It's a lack of leadership in the State of Florida on one person.

We would have more employees, we would have more service if we ran better routes.

And don't tell me that you cannot make money moving passengers by rail.

There is no reason why some of the money-losing routes cannot be put up for private sector competition.

The launch has been an absolute disaster.

We need to bring the private sector in.

I am open to working with you. And I know you're just excited about working with me.

And I will just tell you I have no other priority for the balance of my tenure in Congress, so I am sort of focused on this.
