Mr. Speaker, I ask unanimous consent to bring up H.R. 1217, the bipartisan expanded background checks legislation, to honor the memory of Pomona Police Officer Shaun Diamond, murdered at the hands of a Mongol gang member. The silence has to stop. We need action. To honor his memory, I would like the House to take up this bill. The SPEAKER pro tempore. As previously announced, the unanimous consent request cannot be entertained. The time of the gentlewoman from California will be deducted from the gentleman from Colorado's time.
