the ``Pension Protection Act of 2011,'' H.R. 923, was introduced by my good friend and colleague, Alcee Hastings of Florida, and this bill and prohibit the VA from counting casualty losses and pain and suffering payments as income for the purpose of determining eligibility for non-service-connected pension benefits.
