Mr. Speaker, I rise in honor of the late Congressman Steven LaTourette. Congressman LaTourette was a dedicated public servant and talented legislator . . . who understood the value of compromise and the importance of finding common ground. During his eighteen years serving the people of Ohio in the House of Representatives . . . Congressman LaTourette carried himself with humor . . . and always stayed true to who he was. He was a friend to many . . . and always was willing to reach across the aisle to get things done on behalf of his constituents. We should all follow the example of principled legislators like Congressman LaTourette. I wish his family well during this difficult time . . . and am grateful to have the opportunity to honor his legacy with my fellow colleagues.
