Look, we know bad actors like Russia have been trying to undermine our way of life, our representative government.

Just because it hasn't happened, yet, in 2018 doesn't mean it can't happen between now and Election Day.

I would like to let, again, the key of openness and transparency, so people understand.

Hopefully we are seeing more flow to the different ports of entry, more technology flow to the ports of entry for that non-intrusive inspection.

I do want to note that the appropriations bill included $284 million for port and drug inspection technologies within CBP, and $71 million specifically for opioid detection.

So the reality is, obviously, because it is still so cheap on the streets, that a lot is getting through that we are not detecting.

This is a complicated and multi-faceted problem. There are no quick or easy solutions.

There is a lot more that we can do together to solve, so this is just really a platform for us.

Most of all, we must support all those who suffer from addiction, their families and loved ones, to ensure that they get the help they so desperately need.

Opioid abuse has become an epidemic across the entire Nation, affecting all 50 States.
