Mr. Chairman, I am still processing that you are trying to equate this with cancer, which to me is baffling, and pretty offensive to anyone who has had cancer.

I am disappointed to see the DEI programs are the newest target in my republican colleagues politicized culture war.

MAGA Republicans want to talk about the border, but they don't want to do anything about it.

What they fail to understand is that all we want is a government that works for the people.

The President does not have the authority to unilaterally shut down the border.

It is in the best interest of Utahns for this acreage to be managed by the state of Utah.

I am a firm believer in advancing policies that promote access to our public lands.

I think, bottom line, in plain English, we think this story deserves recognition.

I think this is a great opportunity for us to debate some bills that deserve an open hearing.

I welcome, of course, our newest member to the Natural Resources Committee, Representative Maloy, who I haven't had a chance to meet yet.

I am grateful to him for putting together a list of bills here that I think encompass the greatness of our country.

I commend Representative LaLota for his fierce advocacy on behalf of his constituents.

I would just encourage both the Chairman of the Subcommittee and the Chairman of the Full Committee that I don't know that we should be afraid of the debate.

I am grateful to Representative Espaillat for his efforts to preserve a critical part of the American experience.

I am just, again, grateful for the work done by our colleagues.

I hope that this Subcommittee can continue to build on the investments that we made in the last Congress.
