Twenty-two countries have banned pork products or pork, either from our country totally, or from various individualized States within the country.

Today there has been a clarification made by WHO that is very consistent with what the Doctor just indicated, which is that pork products are safe and safe for consumption.

U.S. pork and pork products are safe and these markets should be reopened consistent with international guidelines.

Restoring the international market for U.S. meat and poultry is a top priority.

But to counter back that, somehow or other, we are responsible as corn farmers for the chopping down of the trees of Brazil or anyplace else is, on the face of it, ludicrous.

Our first obligation is to American workers, and to encourage, if not hold accountable, those firms that are looking to fill spots to first turn to the talent pool in America.
