Freezing of Chinese, Vietnamese, and Cuban assets and controls over the remaining World War II assets of the German Democratic Republic and Czechoslovakia should continue until American claims against these countries are settled.

The Transaction Control Regulations are needed to support controls to which we have agreed with our allies with respect to the export of strategic goods to Communist countries.

I urge the people of the United States to observe the week of October 8, 1978, as National School Lunch Week.

I have determined that these four regulatory programs should be extended because the results attendant upon the lapse of these authorities would be unacceptable in light of present U.S. foreign policy objectives.

I am proud of the success of the National School Lunch Program.

Current trade and financial embargoes against Cuba, North Korea, Vietnam, and Cambodia should be continued until appropriate political changes occur with respect to our relations with those countries.

support for the administration's position on the energy issue

Every child needs wholesome food.

We must work together to find solutions to the problems that face us, and we must do it with honesty and integrity.

I am very pleased by the decision of the House to sustain my veto of the defense authorization bill.

Our country's greatest resource is its people—including those with physical and mental disabilities.

I urge all Governors, Mayors, other public officials, leaders in business and labor, and private citizens at all levels of responsibility to help secure full employment rights for handicapped individuals.
