As a former prosecutor and co-chair along with Senator Burr of the 9-1-1 Caucus in the Senate, I know how important it is to support our first responders.

The Spectrum Act also included an amendment I worked to include that created a funding mechanism for more than 115 million for Next Generation 9-1-1 research and grants.

I'm also the state that had that bridge collapse, and while everyone saw on TV the firefighter, the first responder show up and repeatedly dive into that water to look for survivors...

Our focus today is on striking the right balance between the impacts on consumers, main street businesses, and those broadcasting content through radio, TV, satellite, and new digital services.

This hearing focuses on an important and timely topic, the state of competition in the music industry.
