I have to say confession is good for the soul, and Senator Whitehouse and I don't always see eye-to-eye on every issue.

It always surprised a lot of people, when I chaired this Committee, how many times Barbara Boxer and I agreed.

I suspect that none of us in this Committee do either.

Now, it was Reagan that said there is nothing closer to life eternal on the face of this earth than a government agency once formed.

I am thankful that I think we have overcome those now.

I would like to have any one of the witnesses respond to where do you think we are right now with China and Russia.

I think that is good. I don't want to race to the bottom, either, but I think it is important for us to talk about the fact that there is competition out there and other countries are doing things more aggressively than we are.

I am very enthusiastic about this. And I agree with you, Senator Carper, that it is a lot fun when we can work on issues that we agree on, so let's get it done.

Well, there are things that I know that have been proposed in the past, the Northern Alliance and the Alliance for Prosperity that the United States is partnering with Central America on, specifically those three countries--Guatemala…

The Chickasaw Nation has been the gold standard for getting a chance to find ways to be able to do enterprises and projects, things like health care, that are a tremendous example for tribes around the Country.

The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) required DHS to come up with some sort of metrics and definition for what does operational control mean of our borders.

DHS has spent 13 years trying to be able to pull together their HR system.

People love to do what is significant.

Are there any roadblocks that are out there from the Federal Government right now to any of those projects as far as developing business enterprises?

I would tell you the person sitting to your left and the Chickasaw Nation can give you a set of great ideas.
