The contributions of Irish Americans to the United States is legendary.

Their records are distinguished and impressive and I am confident that they will serve the American people well from the bench of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

We cherish this opportunity once a year to reaffirm the incredible bond between the United States and Ireland.

Our economy works best when the middle class and those working to get into the middle class have the security they need on the job.

I remain hopeful that our two countries can move beyond tension.

If it meets its international obligations, then there could be a new relationship between our two countries.

That's what everybody deserves in this country, the opportunity to make of their lives what they will, no matter who they are, what they look like, whether they are boys or girls, women or men.

I'm confident that we can reach that goal, that we can make sure that every single door is open, every dream is within reach.
