The administration had been illegally creating these interagency agreements, which are extremely inefficient and wasteful, and also result in inconsistent enforcement of federal education policy.

It’s difficult to articulate how impractical these proposals are, to say nothing of the pain and suffering they’ll inflict on students, educators and their communities, if they were to become law.

Instead, they’re forced to deal with uncertainty and chaos created by an administration that has systematically weakened the federal student aid system.

The repeal represents the federal government walking away from that responsibility, which jeopardizes the hard-fought progress we have made.
