Today the Nation's Congress passed the Civil Rights Act of 1968. This is a victory for every American.
In the coming months, I am going to do everything within my power to try to bring that about and to make that possible.
So, not as partisans, not as Democrats, and not as Republicans, but only and always as Americans let us look to the good...
Through the process of law, we shall strike for all time the shackles of an old injustice.
