I believe in a low carbon future. We are making strides in South Dakota, and I am hopeful that we can improve this bill so that it moves us farther down the field in the right way.

First off, H.R. 3371, that would, as you remember, sir, take 40 acres of the massacre site of Wounded Knee and put it into trust-like status for the Oglala Sioux Tribe and the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.
You're stuck with this big doughnut hole, where the tribes don't have the authority to fill that gap, and the federal government doesn't have the capacity to fill that gap.
This would cut the red tape that is standing in the way of people being able to secure mortgages in Indian Country, a hugely important step.
H.R. 8955 would require the IHS to solicit the history of an applicant from every state medical board where the applicant is licensed.
