I would argue the amount saved by eliminating those disaster declarations certainly would not outweigh the benefit those declarations provide to helping our smaller, remote communities respond to and recover from disasters.

I think the first thing I need to do is again thank the committee and the Congress for the post-Sandy legislation that allows that mitigation money, that post-disaster mitigation money, to be identified much earlier in the process.
