I am confused about why the BLM's public land rule does not mention the O&C lands.
The checkerboard pattern of private, industrial, state, tribal, and Federal forest makes it complicated to manage, and even more complicated to protect, especially in this era of climate-driven megafires that threaten communities, wildlife ecosystems, and rural economies.
I represent Oregon's 4th Congressional District, and the BLM manages 2.1 million acres of O&C lands in Western Oregon.
H.R. 2839 will go a long way toward finally healing those wounds after 43 years.
