Recently, on PBS's nightly business program, Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, who has been working on this problem for a dozen years, made a strong statement in support of a commission. I ask unanimous consent to have printed her full statement in the Record at the conclusion of my remarks, and I would highlight that in her statement Ms. MacGuineas notes her early opposition to such a commission, but she has changed her mind based on the urgency of our Nation's fiscal situation.
