Mr. Speaker, I rise today to urge the immediate passage of legislation extending the Affordable Connectivity Program, a lifeline that connects over 23 million families in America, 274,474 in Nevada, and over 76,000 in Nevada's Fourth Congressional District. The bipartisan infrastructure law created the ACP, and it has been crucial to ensure that low- and middle-income households can afford their monthly internet bill, yet, without immediate action, the program will wind down in just a couple of months. Mr. Speaker, the Affordable Connectivity Program Extension Act would keep it alive with a $7 billion investment. It would keep Americans in every ZIP Code connected, supporting families who need access to work, education, and healthcare, whether in my home State of Nevada or every other State across the country. Mr. Speaker, we finally began to close the digital divide. Now is not the time to widen it, so I urge my colleagues to cosponsor the Affordable Connectivity Program Extension Act and to make sure that the internet remains accessible and affordable for everyone. ____________________
