Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honor the tireless work of Tina Cordova, a sixth-generation New Mexican from the Tularosa Basin who is being honored this week by the Albuquerque Community Foundation with the Linda K. Estes Giraffe Award, given to somebody who stands up against all the odds. This award is particularly meaningful as Tina has spent her life advocating for the Tularosa Downwinders impacted by the nuclear fallout from the Trinity bomb test site during World War II. She and countless others have survived cancer and other illnesses that have impacted generations, as spotlighted by the Oppenheimer movie last year and our continued fight in this House this week to expand and reauthorize the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act. Unfortunately, our fight continues. It is because of Tina and the tireless work of our advocates that Downwinders across New Mexico and the country will not be forgotten. We will not stop until we pass this bill. I thank Tina for her fight, her advocacy, and her voice. We are forever grateful. ____________________

Mr. Speaker, what I would like to know is, what does this bill have to do with lowering costs, the economy, or making our communities safer? The answer is nothing. We are 2 weeks into the 119th Congress, and the GOP is already wasting our…

Mr. Speaker, H.R. 7409 is another loophole disguised as permitting reform and streamlining. It would create a path for geothermal projects to bypass critical environmental and community reviews based on arbitrary line drawings and new…
