I am very concerned about Chinese actions and current trend lines on a range of security issues in the Asia-Pacific region.
I think, unfortunately, the Chinese leadership has taken advantage of that pride to test America in the South China Sea or the East China Sea, and it means we have got to stand up.
We must get it right. If confirmed, I look forward to working with members of this committee and with other Members of Congress to achieve that goal and strengthen ties between our two countries.
