The restriction proposed by the amendment is a necessary step in the honest fight to ensure the integrity of our elections.
If Republicans are serious about protecting the integrity of American elections, restricting access of foreign powers to non-public campaign material would have been at the very top of the list of priorities.
I do oppose this amendment and the practice of ballot harvesting, particularly as it relates to our seniors and those who are most in need of protection.
I urge my colleagues to support this amendment that would clarify this important part of the First Amendment case law.
