Mr. Chairman, I yield myself as much time as I may consume. Mr. Chairman, let me just say that as Members of this Congress, we were elected to this body to protect the American people, to protect our citizens, to protect their property. And, Mr. Chairman, the action that's occurring by the Republican majority is going to pass. But it's also going to turn that responsibility, that obligation, the reason for our existence here in this Congress upside down. It's going to make it just meaningless for the protection of the American people. Why don't you protect the landowners, the private landowners?
