Mr. Speaker, I rise today to congratulate Edward J. Hudak, Jr., on being sworn in this past Friday, October 16, as the chief of police for the Coral Gables Police Department. Chief Hudak has a long record of service to south Florida, having worked for 26 years for the city of Coral Gables and its police department, helping residents and visitors alike in ``The City Beautiful,'' a city which I am so humbled and honored to represent. As I am, Chief Hudak is a proud University of Miami Hurricane. Chief Hudak earned his undergraduate and master's degree from the U, having more recently graduated from the FBI's National Law Enforcement Executive Academy. Coral Gables is indeed fortunate to have such a hardworking and relentless civil servant take the lead at its police department. Congratulations, Chief Hudak, on being named the top cop of ``The City Beautiful,'' the city of Coral Gables. ____________________
