Mr. Speaker, I rise today in support of H.R. 2646, the Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act, of which I am a cosponsor. I want to thank Chairman Murphy for the extensive amount of time and attention he has put into addressing mental health and substance abuse disorders. He even joined me in my district to hear directly from my constituents about this particular bill. I thank Chairman Murphy again for that. We discussed the struggles that individuals with mental illness face and how Congress can best address the need of those we serve. With their input, we worked to address every aspect of this overall problem. This legislation will help countless individuals and families in my district in Florida and in communities across our country. I urge my colleagues to support this great piece of legislation.
