Mr. Speaker, I ask unanimous consent that the House bring up the Senate amendment to H.J. Res. 59, to end this reckless Republican-orchestrated shutdown. It is time for the House Republican leadership to stop with the gimmicks and step up with a legitimate effort to re-open the government. The SPEAKER pro tempore. As the Chair has previously advised, that request cannot be entertained absent appropriate clearance. The gentleman from New York's time will be charged.
