In a hospital setting, with medical experts, neither of whom have spoken on this amendment today, it is imperative that we listen to medical experts. When you are in an intensive care unit, when you are receiving chemotherapy, when you are in a medically risky situation, ensuring that the people around you that come in from the outside don't get you sick and potentially risk you severe illness and death, that is a responsible medical policy. What Republicans are proposing is to make sure that the VA can't keep its patients safe.
