Pat and I may not always agree on everything in agriculture, but this is one thing we do agree on, in lockstep, on crop insurance.

Organics is. We are finding a lot of young people in Iowa now with just a few acres able to grow organics and sell them at premium prices.

I think we all pretty much basically agree on crop insurance here.

I think we must be--I think we are No. 2 now in the Nation. I think, if I am not mistaken, in the number of organic farms.

The Malthusian's have always been wrong. We have always risen to all of those challenges.

If I am confirmed, the message will be clear. Discrimination in any form will not be tolerated in this Department.

We want to make sure that Agriculture gets its rightful place in the ability to sequester carbon.

It is time that we move the Department of Agriculture, and particularly the FSA and the RMA, into the 21st century.

We need financing systems and policies for health reform that support prevention and better managing chronic diseases.

I just think that we need to look at that and I would ask your industry--and you have been a great leader.

I think I will just go back to schools are a unique environment and a unique opportunity to offer more balanced choices to students.

I have a problem with that. When I heard that, I thought, well, that means that if I buy something, one-third of that can be sugar.

I just find it odd that because a school board decides to let kids go off the campus, that somehow we have to permit junk food to be allowed on the campus.

Sound nutrition is indispensable to preventing illness and disease and helping Americans lead healthier and longer lives and reduce health care costs.

I see this really as a part of our overall health reform.

I encourage you to take that first step by establishing meaningful nutrition standards for all foods sold in schools.
