I'm deeply concerned about some of the statistics from my home State of Wisconsin, the number of citizens who rely solely on Social Security as a source of income once they retire.

A report by the Joint Economic Committee released this week, chaired by our colleague on this committee, Senator Casey, states that for women over 65 years of age, Social Security accounts for two-thirds of their total income.

I also appreciate my colleague, Senator Murphy, for talking about some of the issues that we're not grappling with here today, stagnant wages, et cetera, as we look at the health of our middle class.
