Isn't it fair to say that it is exclusionary?

This argument is flawed. Before a single vote has been cast, critics of the bill have used their crystal ball to predict the results.

This bill shows the highest respect for the people of Puerto Rico by refusing to mislead them.

This line of reasoning is misguided. Although couched in language intended to convey respect for the Island's residents, this argument--if allowed to prevail--would resign the people of Puerto Rico to yet another century of voicelessness.

H.R. 2499 would--at long last--provide them with this opportunity.

I feel that H.R. 2499 allows the people of Puerto Rico more opportunities to define their political status.

It has completely destroyed good feelings toward the Government in that whole community.

Mr. Milch, I understand that you have stated that Verizon is attempting to steer its customers toward bundled plans. Now, could one do this in a truly competitive market devoid of undue market power?

Mr. Watts, PPU prices are going up. How can you argue that AT&T is not exerting undue market power in the PPU market if prices continue to rise and your companies are charging comparably higher rates?

I personally think that's impossible because of all the State and Federal regulations that are imposed on private plans that a government plan would never be subjected to.
