I will veto, if I have to, any attempt to mortgage your future.

I do not believe America would be stronger if we denied tens of thousands of young children the chance to be in the Head Start program.

I think it matters that we passed the Family and Medical Leave Act so people don't lose their jobs when their children are sick.

Nothing, nothing, could give us a greater asset for the 21st century than our racial and ethnic diversity.

America is safer tonight because we didn't give up our leadership.

That's not the kind of America I want to live in.

The 21st century is ours if we will simply be true to our values and follow our vision.

This country is in much better shape than it was 2 1/2 years ago.

It is not only morally the right thing to do, it is a gold mine for us if we will turn away from those who would divide us.

That is not the question. The question is, how shall we do it?
