If we all drove within the speed limit, we could save more than 8 million gallons of gasoline a day.

The path of reconciliation, cooperation, and peace is the only course that can end the human suffering and lead to a better future for all the people of Northern Ireland.

I place myself firmly on the side of those who seek peace and reject violence in Northern Ireland.

We know the overwhelming majority of the people there reject the bomb and the bullet.

We support the establishment of a form of government in Northern Ireland which will command widespread acceptance throughout both parts of the community.

I do hereby proclaim the week beginning September 11, 1977, as National Hispanic Heritage Week.

I also designate as Constitution Week the period beginning September 17 and ending September 23, 1977.

Today, Americans have come to recognize the important role of the Hispanic community both in the life and work of the United States.
