Senator Gillibrand's legislation would provide stable long-term medical care for people who have become ill as a result of their exposures following the WTC terrorist attacks in 2001.

The legislation does not create any new categories of beneficiaries.

September 11, 2001, was a day of horror and tragedy for America.

I do not know how we can determine what role for-profit colleges will be able to play in meeting this goal.

The problem with the for-profit education industry, in my view, is that risk and reward have been divorced.

Allegations of fraud against certain career colleges should be fully investigated and those engaged in these practices should be severely sanctioned.

At the same time, it is critical that institutions receiving this Federal aid deliver quality educations to their students.

Unfortunately, higher education today is an expensive endeavor that too many students struggle to afford.
