I would just like a lot more transparency on that front to know that you have done a thorough analysis.

Over the last 3 years of drought in New Mexico, there's been a 50 to 60 percent decline in the cattle population in my State.

This is about justice for the Blackfeet people and their water rights.

But generally if you look at 0 to 5, 5 to 10, and so on, it's roughly the same percentage of our workforce.

It's an extraordinarily frustrating system. Something definitely needs to be done.

In your answer to my question about the qualifications and profile of IRS employees you shared that they are reflective of the communities they are in.

The IRS is, again, making progress, as Acting Commissioner Miller pointed out, but it is still extraordinarily frustrating.

As you know, this exemption allows Indian tribal governments, among other local government entities, to provide social benefit programs to promote general welfare without counting as personal income.

I urge that the responses be submitted in a timely manner this year.

I agree with the testimony we've heard here and I think our Federal employees are a real important resource.

The work of the IRS is critically important, though often thankless, to the functioning of our Government.

I know the Pueblo is frustrated that this issue has not been resolved administratively, I am glad to be moving forward on this legislation which will finally make the long-awaited land exchange complete.

It is important that the Committee hear the perspective of the Pueblo.

I would ask that Mr. Joyner explain why the Pueblo should be accountable for something the Forest Service is much more experienced in doing.

There is a real trust issue here. Clearly the Forest Service needs a deadline to get this exchange done.

We must work to promote sustainable economic growth.

We do need to repeal costly mandates, lower taxes, increase regulatory transparency and accountability.
