The President's conduct is precisely the type of threat to our democracy that the Founders feared when they included the remedy of impeachment in the Constitution.

Impeachment is a remedy for grave abuses of the public trust.

crimes and impeachable offenses are different things.

That is laughable.

American military aid was a lifeline for this emerging democracy.

It was about extracting a commitment to announce publicly that they were launching an investigation of President Trump's chief political rival, a smear against Vice President Biden.

Mr. Giuliani demanded that Ukraine make a public statement announcing the investigation of the 2016 election, the DNC server, and Burisma.

He directed a hold on the military aid to Ukraine, and no one could provide any other explanation unrelated to his scheme to pressure them to interfere in the 2020 election.

The President then made admissions in public on October 2nd, October 3rd, and October 4th, then invited another foreign power, China, to interfere in the American Presidential election.

Then the President, in his own words, on July 25th gets on the telephone and asks President Zelensky for a favor, to begin an investigation of his chief political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.

The President of the United States hired Rudy Giuliani, his personal lawyer, to go to Ukraine and lead this scheme to smear Vice President Biden.

In America we don't bow to the President, because he works for us, we the people.

Do what you were elected to do. You didn't swear an oath to Donald Trump. You swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

This President must be impeached. For our democracy, for our Constitution, for the people you represent.

Impeachable offenses, as Alexander Hamilton explained are, and I quote, 'abuses of public trust, injuries done to society itself.'

If we set that precedent, if we decide the President is above the law, then we will no longer live in a democracy.

If the President can cheat to win reelection, the people lose their voice, and he is no longer a President. He is a king.
