Michelle and I were deeply saddened today to hear about the passing of Congressman John Murtha.

That's probably not a right characterization.

The biggest thing, the most important thing that we can do on deficits...is to get a health-reform package passed.

We are eliminating lobbyists from boards and commissions...

I would have loved nothing better than to simply come up with some very elegant academically approved approach to health care.

I'm not going to walk away from health care.

...every single person who comes into the White House now is posted on a website...

...it's important to remember that actually the majority of Democrats did vote to set up this commission.

Absolutely. Everything should be reviewed.

We knew this stuff was tough.

I am not going to walk away from health insurance reform.

I believe a key part of that foundation is America's small businesses.

We are not helpless in the face of our difficulties.

We can continue to ignore the growing burden of runaway costs of health care.

Now is the time to do what's right for the country.

Let's come together and pass these measures without delay.
