I think this is one of these threats that is an invisible threat, and then, wham, it could have serious consequences.

I fully expect that from this Subcommittee and from your continued testimony and the oversight that we will provide, that we offer the taxpayer the kind of accountability and transparency they deserve.

I think that there is great consistency between the idea of creating green jobs, saving money, and really investing in the future.

I look forward to hearing some of your testimony about those aspects of the way that GSA looks at its leases and buildings.

I understand where you have a lease that the lease is a private owner and you are leasing the building...

there has to be some more empirical basis beyond the subjectivity of my building or this courthouse or that building in my district needs to be on the list

I would also like to point to the Chairwoman's leadership in making sure that we also have training opportunities.

I want to make sure the Solicitor General is going to be sensitive to the role that you can play in making sure that the appropriate protections are maintained within our Constitution.

So we expect that message to be very clear to all the people in the Department of Justice as to restoring the confidence that partisan politics will not play a role in the deployment of career personnel.

Dean Kagan will bring distinction to the office, continue its highest traditions, be a forceful advocate for the United States before the Supreme Court.

the premier agency for the people of this country in protecting the rule of law, representing the people of this Nation, and holding anyone who violates our laws accountable, even if it is the President of the United States.

I would also hope that there would be some transparency in making those judgments so that there is an opportunity for input and challenge if it is a fundamental issue.
