I think this Committee will be doing a disservice to our constituents if we did not just talk about getting people insurance without discussing what type of insurance we are going to be offering.

Am I to understand that I hear today that there is perhaps a consensus emerging that we need to move more toward nuclear energy which will help us out in the long run.

It is essential that there is an ethnically and racially diverse workforce, from the staff in the district offices to the enumerators in the neighborhoods and barrios.

President Obama and Members of Congress should be congratulated for including an additional $1 billion in the President's stimulus bill to enhance the Bureau's enumeration activities in 2010.

I think it is very important that Congress provides the Census Bureau with adequate resources to undertake the mammoth task of achieving a fair and accurate count.

We applaud the President's commitment to securing the future of those two programs.

This policy would have a devastating effect on these facilities that employ, invest in, and serve their communities when we need them the most.

I strongly believe these facilities play an integral role in our health system by providing high-quality, efficient care.

I think we have to protect both of those programs.

I think that we ought to treat all workers fairly, and I know you do too.

It is the Republican office-holders who have deemed him his daddy. He is the daddy of this Republican Congress right now.

Mr. Sullivan, is there any credence to the concern that program managers have 'too many' reports to file and are not focusing on managing their programs?

Mr. Sullivan, with the annual Selected Acquisition Reports and current Nunn-McCurdy reporting requirements, is Congress suffering from a lack of oversight and reports from DOD?

The President's proposed a new mandate on every business in America that employers will be mandated to set up 401(k) accounts or automatic IRAs.

These are new taxes and a further reduction in take-home pay. A citizen tax, a new citizen tax.

I feel with the sacrifices our active duty are having to make, particularly those going overseas and on the front lines, that there is nothing that is too much to do for our active duty and their families.

I appreciate the low-key approach of eminent domain. There have been abuses of that power by local governments, and using that as a last resort is the right way to do that.
