We can't continue to neglect these facilities and families who rely on them nor can we continue to underestimate their importance to a full and robust recovery.

The Subcommittee's overall objective today is to evaluate the special needs of children during the preparedness, response, and recovery phase of disasters.

this issue of who is taking care of children while you are trying to recover is central to the successful recovery effort

I want to urge this Subcommittee and I want to urge Congress to consider a permanent fund to be available for these kinds of displacements.
